SYMBOLIC CREST
NEW ENGLAND CHRISTIAN
COLLEGE & SEMINARY
A school crest is symbolic of the mission, goals or objectives of
the organization it represents. The crest of New England
Christian College and Seminary contains seven main elements
as follows:
1.) HELMET OF SALVATION represents a warrior in the army of God
who fights the battle of Faith. I Th. 5:8 says, "But since we belong
to the day, let us be self-controlled, putting on faith and love as a
breastplate, and the hope of salvation as a helmet."
2.) THE CROWN AND SWORD representing a reward to the believer
who is faithful unto death and the truth of God's Word equipping
the saints. James 1:12 says, "Blessed is the man that endureth
temptation for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life,
which the Lord has promised to them that love him."
3.) THE CROSS AND OPEN BIBLE represents wisdom, education and
following Christ. II Tim. 3:16 says, "All scripture is given by
inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for
correction, for instruction in righteousness."
4.) THE DOVE AND PRAYING HANDS representing the anointing of
the Holy Spirit who strengthens us to press on to the high calling.
Phil. 3:14 says, "I press toward the mark for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus."
5.) LAUREL LEAVES represent the victory in Christ. I Cor. 15:57 the
Holy Spirit who strengthens us to press on to the high calling. Phil.
3:14 says, "But thanks be to God! He gives us victory through our
Lord Jesus Christ."
6.) THREE DIVISION SHIELD represents the trinity of God and the
trichotomy of man. Matt. 28:19 and Thes. 5:23.
7.) THE OFFICIAL SEMINARY CREST IS EITHER GOLD OR BLACK
WITH THE SCHOOL COLORS WITHIN THE SHIELD AS FOLLOWS:
1.) ROYAL BLUE for philosophy is the color of heaven and stands for wisdom
and truth. It serves as the background for the crown and sword.
2.) SCARLET for theology is often symbolic of Jesus Christ's blood. This is
the back round color for the dove and praying hands.
3.) WHITE for divinity is symbolic of Jesus Christ's nature and represents
regenerated man's justification before God, through Jesus Christ. It
serves as the background for the cross and open Bible.
